The passenger ride over 2–5 km
On the shortest Wonderlapland ride you sit in the sled and a musher drives over 2–5 km. Four to five people ride together, so a couple may share with strangers. The listing offers a way around that: you can book the sled privately for your own group by paying for all four seats. It gives 1 hour for the whole activity but does not state the time on the sled, and it says nothing about clothing or a transfer. It suits a family of four or five that wants to ride together behind a musher; our page on husky rides with kids sets it next to the other family options.
The self-drive rides over 6–10 km and 12–15 km
Both self-drive rides follow the same pattern. The musher explains the technique first, you drive your own sled on forest trails, and afterwards you warm up in a kota with a fire, hot drinks and cookies while the guides tell you about the dogs and the kennel. Guiding is offered in English, French, Spanish and Catalan, and on the 6–10 km ride also in Persian.
The difference is the distance and how much of it the listing pins down. The 6–10 km ride takes 4 hours in total and does not state the time on the sled. The 12–15 km ride takes 5 hours, with about an hour on the sled, in a group of at most nine. Neither listing says how many people share a sled, whether drivers swap or from what age you may drive. If those points matter for your group, check them with the operator after booking, or compare the safaris that do state them on our long husky safari page.
◈
Winter clothing and the way to the kennel are your job.
On the 6–10 km ride the winter overall and snow boots are not in the base price; they cost extra and have to be requested in advance, like the photo package. On the 12–15 km ride winter clothing is not included either, and you can rent it for a small fee if you ask ahead. Both listings give a meeting point in Rovaniemi but mention no transfer and no distance to the kennel. Plan how you get there, and bring layers for the ride: our what to wear page lists them.

Wonderlapland beyond the huskies
Wonderlapland also runs reindeer tours at its farm, from a short farm ride to a 1.5 km sleigh ride and summer feeding visits. Those are compared on our sister site rovaniemi-reindeer.com.
